Septarian Nodules (also known as Dragon Eggs) are a unique and magical glimpse into the history of one of earth's beautiful creations.
Septarians were formed millions of years ago during the Cretaceous Period, when volcanic eruptions encrusted organic matter including mud and dead sea life. As the oceans receded, the nodules shrank and developed the variety of cracks seen in the outer limestone shell. The inside was gradually transformed into crystalline structures.
